Ozzie on the Issues

Above all, Ozzie Fumo wants to make Clark County a safer place to live.

This means approaching justice in a way that centers the needs of victims, offers opportunities for healing and restitution, as well as crime prevention through deep community support, and building out a comprehensive toolkit of justice, rather than always defaulting to punishment as a solution. does not mean allowing people who do harm in our community to continue offending, but rather to root out the causes themselves whenever and wherever possible. We need common-sense solutions to crimes of poverty, empathy for those suffering from the disease of addiction, and a particularly tough line on those who use positions of power to cause harm.

This is not easy work. It requires significant creativity, patience, and collaborative work across areas of government, non-profits, and the private sector. But the safer, happier, healthier Clark County that we’ll live in will be worth every bit of effort.

Paid for by the Committee to Elect Ozzie Fumo.
